Imbue, Keong Saik Road

3 course set lunch at a Michelin Guide restaurant for just $68?!

I love hunting for affordable ways to dine at fancy restaurants and was excited to come across Imbue’s lunch menu at a very eye catching price of $68! The lunch choices are pretty extensive and covers items that would be well worth $40+ each if ordered ala carte.

Starters

Dry aged shima aji with 30 years aged tangerine peel marinade, asparagus and finger lime
Suckling pig with yuzu hoisin sauce, truffle and onion potato pancake

Imbue prides itself as a place that employs European cooking techniques using Asian ingredients, aiming to create new textures yet retaining that familiar taste. The price alone feels super worth it for the innovative spin the chefs have incorporated in dishes.

Mains

Mangalica pork loin with spring vegetable porridge and caramel char siu brown butter
King George fish with white asparagus, almond coconut foam and grilled mountain yam

Desserts

Roasted lily bulb mousse with apple terrine, sea salt caramel and Calvados anglaise
Chocolate shiitake cremeux with plum sour cream, puffed rice sable and whisky

Overall I appreciated the thoughtfulness that went into each dish. Despite the plethora of ingredients within a small delicate dish, the flavours were carefully balanced to make sure the dish remained harmonious and coherent.

MALAI bread
Ginseng honey butter

I added on $18 for their MALAI bread which was honestly maybe the best part of the meal as the warm bread went superbly well with the refreshing ginseng honey butter. Still dreaming of it till this day 😋

Definitely worth a visit to Imbue if you’re looking for something sophisticated yet won’t break the bank.
