Tambuah Mas, Paragon

MICHELIN Guide Indonesian food right in the heart of Orchard Road!

Not sure why it took me so long to discover Tambuah Mas at Paragon since this place is LEGIT 💯 Indonesian food. You know a place is the real deal if you see a constant stream of Indonesian customers every weekend.

Nasi Goreng Istimewa ($18.90)

Also tried the Nasi Goreng Istimewa ($18.90) has made it into my favourite list because it comes with all the goodies like shrimp fried rice, satay, egg and acar. Perfect if you want a wholesome dish just for yourself.

Tahu Telur ($14.90)

The Tahu Telur here would be the reason why I would visit this place again and again. Imagine this — generous chunks of soft tahu lightly fried to give a thin crispy exterior underneath a fluffy tower of fried egg and topped with shredded carrots. The kecap manis is just the right amount, not too much until it makes the dish soggy, but enough to give this dish a harmonious balance of sweet and saltiness.

Soto Ayam ($8.90)

For sides, I had the Soto Ayam ($8.90) which had rice noodles, shredded chicken and a potato croquette. This was a very hearty soup dish!

Ikan Pepes ($9.90)

Also ordered the Ikan Pepes ($9.90) which looks like a typical otah but I guarantee you it’s more than that. It’s made of pure marinated fish fillet so every bite feels like the real deal, though it was a tad too salty for my preference.

Can’t wait to try the other dishes there! Let me know in the comments if I should try any particular ones!
