Lobby Lounge at Intercontinental Hotel Singapore receives a resounding yes from me for their creativity in their high tea. While I am aware that high tea menu changes from season to season, I think you can pretty much commit a hotel to a certain standard by how they have performed historically.

Until 31 July 2020, in collaboration with luxury beauty brand Chantecaille, InterContinental Singapore is offering an elegant high tea themed around the all time classic rose flower.⁣ Expect every bite to be infused with a hint of floral note while sipping away from a selection of TWG teas.

Just when I thought that it’d be the usual rose flavoured sweets and snacks that we’ve all eaten before in one way or another, I was surprised at how creatively each item was put together, even the scones and the jam!

Not sure about you, but I’ve never heard of a rose tea and blueberry scone, much less eaten one before. The scones come with a serving of house made rose jam which was very light yet refreshing on the palate. The classic strawberry jam was a crowd pleaser as well.

I have got to say that my favourite part of the high tea was the savoury items. I really appreciated how they spiced things up with the sandwiches to include items like baked scallops and prawn pita.

Each person is also entitled to 2 servings of coffee or TWG tea. As an added bonus, the high tea is available from 1pm to 5pm so you can really spend the whole afternoon catching up with your friends. ⁣

As of writing, the high tea set is priced at $88 for 2 pax. IHG Rewards members and selected credit cards (please call the restaurant to check) can enjoy a 20% discount. Alternatively, if you are a Burpple Beyond member, this high tea is 1-for-1 which makes it super worth it!⁣
