Go!!!

Ask me what’s the best wanton noodles in Singapore and I’d say Kok Kee in a heartbeat. I literally ate this every couple of months growing up, anguishing when the food centres they were in closed down for good, and smiling again when they reopened elsewhere in the same area.
I’ve got to be honest here. There is a lot of room for improvement for their char siew and wanton. I am particular about the char siu in wanton noodles, but what made me come back time and time again over the years is their sauce and chilli. The flavours are unrivalled, and the combination is out of this world. The noodles come with a bowl of soup that I would not touch until I’m done with my meal, then I would pour the remaining sauce from my plate into the bowl of soup and drink it down in one huge gulp.
The queues for Kok Kee are insane. Even though they only open at 12noon, the queue would start forming at around 1130am, lasting through lunch until they were sold out for the day. For me, the portion is way too little to be satisfying. I, like many other patrons that I saw eating at the coffee shop, would always buy 2 plates of wanton noodles. I highly recommend you to do the same. Before heading down though, do check their Facebook as they like to take off days here and there.
